NatureUganda Education & Advocacy

Advocacy and lobbying in the context of environmental conservation is about presenting extensive information to various stakeholders to make informed decisions to protect the interests of biodiversity.

NatureUganda, through its project staff, developed a framework strategy for communication and advocacy for various projects. The principal objective is to diversify activities and information in order to reach all the target groups with the right messages. This is achieved when the project lobbies the right people and builds partnerships with organizations and people with similar interests.

Currently, NatureUganda considers communications to encompass information services and systems, public awareness and advocacy work; the current program is responsible for

  1. Traditional library services
  2. Technical development and management of NatureUganda’s external website and social media platforms;
  3. NatureUganda publications.
Some of the Education and Advocacy programs implemented include local government and national level meetings on biodiversity mainstreaming, monthly public talks covering various topics relating to species, sites and habitats among others. NatureUganda also runs a primary and secondary schools education campaign aimed at encouraging them to embrace nature conservation and wise use of resources early enough
