»Communities empowered in Biodiversity Conservation
Biodiversity conservation is a human endeavor: initiated by humans, designed by humans, and intended to modify human behavior to achieve a socially desired objective. (Mascia et al. 2003).
Wetlands conservation comes with opportunity costs, both economic and social. But development and conservation are not necessarily tradeoffs, and the two can co-exist as objectives to provide long-term benefits for communities.

»Regional  Education for  Sustainable Development (ESD) Day celebrations
Lake Victoria Catchment Environment Education Programme (LVCEEP) under NatureUganda in conjuction with World Wide Fund (WWF)  organized an annual regional ESD day on 08th July, 2011 in Mwanza Tanzania to raise public awareness on the importance of EE/ESD.  The day provided an opportunity to publicize the work and initiatives of the communities, schools and stake holders working with WWF - LVCEEP.

On Saturday the 18th of June 2011, NatureUganda members took a tour of Herps at the Uganda Reptile Village. Uganda Reptile Village is an organisation existing to conserve and protect reptiles and to provide education about reptiles.

»NatureUganda at one of its Explorer schools
On the 4th of June 2011, NatureUganda was invited by one of its explorer schools, Joseph’s Girls S S S Nsambya to a Wild life Club function.

»NatureUganda's Annual General Meeting 2011
NatureUganda's Annual General Meeting was held on the evening of May 27, 2011 at the Uganda Museum, Kamwokya. The meeting commenced with at least 28 members in good standing, that is, whose membership is up to date as required by the EANHS constitution and it was well attended.

»World Migratory Birds Day - 2011
On Saturday, 14th May 2011, the World commemorated World Migratory Birds Day under the theme “Land use changes from a bird's eye view”. This was initiated in 2006 as an annual awareness-raising campaign highlighting the need for the protection of migratory birds and their habitats. On the second weekend of May every year, people around the world take action and organize public events such as bird festivals and bird watching excursions to celebrate it under a specific theme.

»Battle for the Uganda Museum
Founded in 1954 the Uganda Museum as well as holding the nations treasures also holds a commanding view over the city and this is the reason that the Ugandan government wishes to demolish it and create a 60 storey tower block to house a new East Africa Trade Centre.

»Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) workshop
Education Vs nature conservation; NatureUganda in conjuction with UNESCO and NEMA organised an Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) workshop which took place on the 8th April 2011. The discussion aimed at laying strategies of integrating ESD in the curriculum of all learning institutions.

»Plans to remove the Grey-crowned Crane from the Uganda Coat of Arms revealed
Towards the end of June 2009, media reports indicated that a suggestion has been made to change the coat of Arms for Uganda in particular the Grey-crowned Crane to be replaced by a Honey Bee.
